Sam’s collection \u003ci\u003eWriting the Significant Soil \u003c\/i\u003e(Wayfarer Books, 2022) was awarded the 2021 Poetry Prize by Homebound Publications, the 2022 Poetry Prize by the Virginia Professional Communicators, and the Poetry Prize by the National Federation of Press Women. Seven other collections are in print including \u003ci\u003eStone Bird\u003c\/i\u003e (San Francisco Bay Press, 2023) and \u003ci\u003eDark Fathers\u003c\/i\u003e (Kelsay Books, 2019).
